Atlantic Glider is a 52 metre long, high speed transatlantic passenger liner, that weighs in at under 50 tonnes and travels at a top speed of well over 60knots (70mph+).

Atlantic Glider has unique aluminium exoskeleton sub-wave piercing hulls, which dramatically reduce wave resistance and provide a 55% reduction in cross sectional area when compared with similar conventional wave piercing hulled vessels. Atlantic Glider cuts through the water like a razorblade!

Atlantic Glider s speed is further enhanced via a groundbreaking skin friction reduction technique which significantly reduces hull friction drag. Due to the exoskeleton hull design the new  large sheet fabrication techniques are employed in construction allowing such vessels to be constructed in 9 to 12 months.

Atlantic Glider is powered by four bio-diesel engines that drive two directional water jets and two unique high speed booster water jets. This configuration delivers as yet unparalleled power to weight ratios and unbelievable stability in seas of up to FORCE 7 (near gale).

Furthermore, Atlantic Glider will produce next to no wake and has a highly efficient aerodynamic and naturally stealthy superstructure. This provides Atlantic Glider with an exceptional power to overall drag coefficient and allows the comfortable delivery of lower carbon efficiency at high speed; unlike any vessel currently on our planet.

Consequently, the vessel will deliver luxurious London to New York passages in less than two days irrespective of sea state or even volcanic activity! Our services are aimed at the first class passenger market; looking for an experience of a life time. The four, 5 Star double guest suites provide a luxurious, exclusive, intimate and private experience. The vessel s beautifully appointed areas include a dining room with180 degree views, two forward observation lounges, bar/lounge area and sheltered external fly deck. Guests will have just 2 days and 2 nights to enjoy their voyage of a life time. The helicopter deck will provide our passengers with secure and efficient access for scheduled passages.

In order to succeed in our challenges and take all trophies, Atlantic Glider and her crew will have to cross the Atlantic 4 times, travelling a total of 15,700 nautical miles.

• Legs 1, 2, & 3 Plymouth to Brest, Brest to Lisbon, Lisbon to Gibraltar and arriving at the challenge start location, which will prepare the crew and vessel for the high-speed Transatlantic passages to come.
• Legs 4, 5, & 6 For the Columbus Trophy, Virgin Atlantic Trophy and the priceless Hales Trophy: Cadiz to Miami , Miami to NYC, NYC to UK totalling a gruelling 7500 nautical miles.
• Leg 7 For the prestigious  Blue Riband accolade held since July 1952 by the SS United States .This route is set against 3000 nautical miles of punishing north Atlantic currents, winds and waves from the UK to USA in 2 days.
• Legs 8, 9, & 10 are for the victory return voyage which will be at a more relaxed and enjoyable pace, from NYC, to Bermuda, to the Azores, and finally homeward to Plymouth for a huge party and official celebrations!
